Mark "I support Bush on the WOT... whoops not really I just told you that to get re-elected" Kirk was in Congress at the time, and like Obama, opposed the surge and forcefully argued it would not work. <br /><br />Senator McCain, if, Kirk, who claims to be an “intelligence officer,” was so wrong about something which you presented as straightforward as the surge, how could you support an opponent of the surge and expect us to have any confidence in Kirk’s judgment?
