A Day on the Lake, and Getting Ready for the Big Mark Kirk Announcement (UPDATED: Dems to Help Establish Kirk Conservative Creds)

I usually don't post a lot of personal stuff on this blog, but since I've discovered Facebook, I'm starting to lighten up about that. So, I wanted to share a pic of my day on the lake, racing the boat (we took third out of seven, so not all that great, but it beats being in the office).

I'm really looking forward to the big Mark Kirk announcement tomorrow. I can't speak for the campaign, but let's just say no one I know is taking any sucker bets that it will be anything but a U.S. Senate announcement. Unless something for a client blows up on me, I plan to be there to get pix and full coverage for the Blog.

I'm considering making a "Team America's Blog for Kirk" sign, but my wife will probably talk me out of it.

This is really going to be exciting!

UPDATED 8:45 p.m.: Well, we anticpated that the location of Kirk's Monday announcement was going to get out, and sure enough, the New Trier Dems intend to march and protest Kirk at his presser. Classy, classy. And, get this: they are trying to convey the message that Kirk is not a moderate! No, remember Kirk=Bush!!! That really worked great for Seals.

All you right-wingers that think Kirk isn't good enough for you, please take notice.

UPDATED 10:25 p.m.: I just finished pasting
up the sign I will bring along to the Kirk press conference tomorrow. Maybe the TA fans will all stand together or something (and as I predicted, Mrs. TA thinks I'm being a bit goofy, but hey, this is grass roots politics at its finest).

And, in other news- over at the Bizzaro world's answer to Team America, "Blue Lake Special," they are trying to help us with our blog renaming dilemma. Well, a few of their "Top Ten Rejected Names" for the blog are kinda sorta amusing, but Letterman they are not. Ah, flattery, flattery.

Well, it was getting boring with Ellen of the Tenth having crawled into a hole of self-pity and denial after Seals lost. These folks seem to show a little more spirit. And Ellen certainly never could take a joke.

Welcome to the big leagues folks. Every chicago goon and democrat/liberal/anti-israel sicko is going to be following mark, videotaping (if you see these people attack them ONLY if the t.v thing is OFF-other wise google trent wisecup and rochester) his every public word for the next 16 months looking to find one macaca thing whether it's him saying hed voted for alito and roberts, him praising bush, one of his off color comments about mexican immigrants needing to get frisked becasue they look like terrorists, doesn't matter. the trash is coming up and they are going to be on mark.

ABSOLUTELY never disclose events here. These thugs are going to make sitting on my fat ellen watching t.v. look civil and smart, which we know she is not to the 150th power.

I will be there tomorrow to hear the first stump speech and to see the old team. If you are team, king louis or someone else please identify yourself so we can aquaint and prepare to destroy alexi-what kind of man is named for a girl?Loser.

Finally, I hope we dont lose sight of the local 10th congressional race. Mark's senate office will be nicer and his staff won't be stuck in quarters fit for a college freshmen, but we can't forget our work here. Bond has been getting destroyed for his anemic local fundraising and it would be great to keep the seat and shove another you know what up the president's ellen.

Foklaes, are you encouraging people to attack people who do not share your political ideology? TA, I know you're a lawyer, I would think you would want to delete or reprimand him for said comment.

Also, I remember a conservative group that put up ads attacking Mr. Seals following him around with a video camera on the 4th of July, 2008 to get him to have a menacing look on his face and encouraging him to say something stupid.

PS, I'm not a fan of Alexi myself, but you just look immature attacking him on the masculinity of his name.

FOKLAES does not subsribe to violence. It was a joke. I intend to bring the protesters girl scout cookies and fresh lemonade with ice and thank them for exercising their 1st amendment rights. But people should be heads up. The 10th dems aren't very bright, but the national dems will be stalking kirk from now until he is retired so get ready.

When Alexi quits the clubbing on saturday nights, the arrogant interviews with michigan avenue magazine and the other fancy magazines where he brags about a career bought with his daddy's money, we'll give him respect. Like tell us the difference between abbas and hamas or hezbollah and prime minister assad and queen raina.

Also Dr. P, remember that kirk has been actively mocked for his service to country by the 10th dems. one local blog mocked his name, rooster. none of their candidates has ever served a day in uniform.

A week or so after a call for decorum and respectful debate on this blog, the generalizations that take place here ("10th Dem's are stupid"), the unique juxtapositions ("democrat-anti-Israel?"), and the double-standards ("checking one's every word" but what Graham, Sessions, and others say are a-ok?!) that go unchecked are atrocious, look poorly upon the authors, and the blog itself, and amount to dribble. When will the glossy brochure or binder be available?

One may wish to ask themselves when posting:
Is what I'm posting of value?

Does it contribute to a free, respectful exchange of ideas?

Does it reflect well upon the author and the blog?

Does it imply that TA's favorite recent Administration let any Tom Dick or Harry get appointed to high office and pursued unnecessary tax cuts during excessive spending. (Tip: tax cuts are a form of spending. The GOP-led Congress allowed this unnecessary spending to occur for years, despite unchecked spending. Born-again fiscal conservatives?)

I'm looking forward to hearing Mark Kirk make his long awaited announcement for the US Senate. And let's just ignore those who ought to be at work or doing something productive instead of being spoil sports and unwanted gnats during this special morning. They and their friends are irrelevant. You'd think they'd already understood the message that more folks WANT Mark Kirk in office than don't. These will most likely be the same rag tag protesters who are regulars around the Kirk office and on Skokie Blvd in front on his office. Who cares about these people. Let's just enjoy the opportunity to band together as Kirk friends and supporters to help laumch this campaign the way that many of us did way back in 2000.

Looks like Dan isn't coming back. His team has left him. From the washington post...

Lis Smith, who served as press secretary to former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe's unsuccessful bid for the Virginia governorship, has moved up the east coast to serve in the same role for Gov. Jon Corzine's (D) campaign in New Jersey. Smith is an itinerant campaign worker; she spent the 2006 cycle working for Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.) and then worked for Democrat Dan Seals against Illinois Rep. Mark Kirk last November.
