Team America and friends salute the men and women of our armed forces, especially those on active duty overseas, and those that have given their lives to protect our freedom.
"We must remember that many who served in our military never lived to be called veterans. We must remember many had their lives changed forever by experiences or the injuries of combat. All veterans are examples of service and citizenship for every American to remember and to follow." — President George W. Bush, Oct. 30, 2001

A wonderful tribute to those who gave us the right to talk all day long about politics.
Technically a tardy tribute, as you pointed out Publia, since it's supposed to be the 11th day of the 11th month, but my life is ruled by whether court is canceled or not, so I was indeed focusing on Monday in my mind!
It is a great tribute, TA, and don't apologize for posting today. Our men and women who wear, and who have worn the uniform so bravely and proudly, make it possible for us to live the way we do in this country. Another reason to be proud of our Congressman who continues to serve one week-end each month in defense of our country and our freedoms. Thank you to Commander and Congressman Mark Kirk!
TA:
Thank you for staying off politics and thanking veterans. When I was overseas, the enemy did not see Republicans or Democrats -- just Americans.
We need to remember what joins us today.
we also need to remember that nationalism is one of the most dangerous "isms" in the world.
B-dogg: that's rather a strange comment coming on Veterans Day, and being posted on a blog hosted by someone who goes by "Team America, World Police."
Nevertheless, we welcome all opinions. Thanks for dropping by.
They no doubt also polled on a Seals-Kirk head to head and that is ominously absent.
In some states it is illegal to release a poll without the cross-tabs. Would be interesting to see what they aren't saying and perhaps we should call on them to release them.
Still though 52 points is an awful lot of ground for Footlik to make up in 90 days.

TA, you being more liberal take the "official" holiday, I being more conservative take the traditional one. (The 11th hour of the 11th day was Armistice day, after all.) Both parties heed their country's call, it is fitting, right, and proper that we focus ourselves on something higher than mere party allegiance, and that would be America.
Well, no one's called me "liberal" for quite some time, if ever. Wonder what Ellen would say to that!
