Cleaning Up Illinois... One Tollway Booth at a Time

The best dividend from ousting Governor Rod Blagojevich may be getting rid of those irritating Open Road Tolling signs that went up shortly before he was last up for election in 2006. In case you forgot, those signs were installed at a cost of around $15,000 each, for a total of almost $500,000 cost to the taxpayers. And for what, exactly?

Of course, now that Pat Quinn is poised to be guv, he's attacking the low hanging fruit (I mean, signs), and eliminating the tollway signs, as one of the most obvious examples of Blagojevich's egomanical tendencies, will get Quinn some good initial press. But, where were Quinn's protests in 2006, when Quinn was behind Blago 100%? Remember that Quinn said in 2006 that Blago was "a person who's honest and one of integrity" and that "I have confidence the governor does the right thing all the time."

Where was Quinn's objection back then, pray tell?

I'd love to have one of those signs.

All the signs, including the signs on roads coming into Illinois, that have Rod's name on them.

I can't wait to see and hear old Rod on The View tomorrow. That he has hired Drew Peterson's PR firm continues to show us just who and what represents us. And yes, where WAS Pat Quinn's voice all these years? For that matter, where were the voices of all the 'leaders' of the party in power? And it still will not be easy to re-take offices by anyone other than those with a D after their name.

If you've ever been to a country run by a dictator-I was recently in libya, you'll find this is the status quo, so really not cool for catwoman's party to do this kind of thing.

I loved reading in John Kass's column that he thinks blago will go nuclear on new trier high school alumn and former girly man ballerina rahm emanuel. I hope he spills the beans since he's got nothing left at this point.

Side note, went to an animal food store today and thought I saw our old friend the pup. It wasn't whining and it wasn't making any accidents so I knew it couldn't be Dan Seals.

It took Patrick Quinn nearly six years to find his "reformer" voice. He still hasn't come up with an adequate explanation turning into a mute during that time frame.
