Concerned (yet snarky) commentor "Rob_N" pointed out that the DCCC's "Red to Blue" program only targeted OPEN congressional seats, not ones that are held by current candidates that have not announced retirement or otherwise are not expected to compete for the office again this election. We had posted this morning that the DCCC program did not pick up the 10th District, which seemed like a pretty positive development for Mark Kirk. So, it seems that we can't draw any conclusions from the DCCC not including the 10th District in this program.
Oh, well. Thanks to "Rob_N" who pointed that out and for keeping ol' TA honest.

Back for more clarification...
This is just the First Round of R2B according to the DCCC's chair, so your buddy's not out of the woods yet.
No doubt, Rob. Kirk is under no illusions that DCCC will not be kicking in. That's why his warchest is already up over $2 mil.
Although if Seals wins and continues to torpedo himself, DCCC may be discounting its investment from what it might have initially figured.
TA,
As a staunch Kirk partisan, your version of "torpedo" is quite different from most people's.
This is round one. They have more money this time but also 64 scared shitless members in bush districts that they have to protect first, and if Mark has 2.5 million on hand as a headstart before Dan makes another go at what looks like a boneheaded campaign- he mentioned Tom DeLay who's been gone 3 years now moron, they may give him short shrift.
That would be nice.
Anon 7:48pm,
Tom DeLay was just in the Chicago area shilling for conservatives a few weeks ago... So much for "been gone 3 years now"...
And if those 64 "Bush district" members are so scared, why is the surge of retirements coming on the GOP side? Face it, the only reason Congress is so unpopular is because of the minority Republicans and their incessant obstructionism -- at least if you believe in polls that is.
