Bob Dold Launches First Radio Ad in IL-10 Race

GOP Congressional Candidate Bob Dold is up on the radio with a 60-second 'meet the candidate' type ad. The ad will air on major Chicago radio like WBBM, WLS, WGN, etc.

“I’m Robert Dold. I’m a small business owner. I employ just under one-hundred people. I understand the pressures of meeting a payroll. I’m running for Congress because I believe Washington is going in the wrong direction. We have a choice to make. Do we want to empower the federal government, which seems to be growing by leaps and bounds each and every day? Or do we want to empower individuals?

For those of us who believe passionately in the ideals of the founders, the way forward, I believe, is clear. I believe that the strength of our country lies within each one of us. Within our families, our communities and our faith.

I’m a fiscal conservative and a social moderate and believe there is a better way. I want to go to Congress to make a difference. But I need your help. I’m Robert Dold and I approved this message. So please join me. Go to www.doldforcongress.com. And let’s get back to work.”

He forgot to say that he believes that Tea parties have a "great voice".

Oh, and he also forgot to add that he has flexible positions, on abortion and other social issues, depending on the audience he addresses. Tea party admiration and flexibility are major strengths of his. He is the perfect candidate for IL10.

Why am I not surprised that once again you totally twist Bob Dold's positions to fit your story line. Republicans for Choice have endorsed Dold and you know it. You continue to distort Dold's positions to suit your willfull attempts to discredit him. In doing so, you just show how truly nasty you are.
Bob did say that the Tea parties have a great voice. He NEVER SAID that he endorses that voice and you know it. Again, Blue, why do you continue to beat the drum in a totally negative, false manner. And show me when he has bent his message to suit his audience. I can CLEARLY show you how Seals has done that very thing your falsely accuse Dold of doing in this election. Be careful, Blue, your colors are showing brightly.

Bottom line is that the Tea Parties DO have a great voice. That's why Democrats are in a state of panic over them.

Whether you agree with Tea Party positions or disagree with them, you have to admit it: They DO have a great voice.

And they will have an impact on the election this year.

Which is why Democrats are doing their best to tar and feather them.

Tea Partiers have a 'great voice'? What does that mean?

It sounds to me like a phrase that, when uttered, can be read as an endorsement by those looking for one, but without enough specificity to be held to an endorsement. In other words, it's double-speak.

So, thanks, Louis. We'll now put you in the class of Tea Party. If you take the opportunity to speak with known ambiguity, then you have to live with whatever reasonable interpretation is drawn from your words, not merely the least innocent.

I like the Tea Party's voice. It's pushing moderate Republicans away from Dold and Kirk. It's fractionalizing the base support of solid Republican candidates who have avoided the Tea Party like the plague, while allowing the base Democratic supporters a reason to rally around their candidates. It's not that the Dem's fear the Tea Party, the T.P. is merely a good vehicle to rally the troops.

The main voice of tea parties reflects indifference for other Americans and disregard for other human beings. In addition, frequently there are voices reflecting racism, bigotry and intolerance against minorities and immigrants. Is that the "great voices"? How great are they?

the timing of the ad is smart-radio and summer are cheap times to get a message out.

the 2nd paragraph is curious and sounds more like something you'd hear in alabama than for a north shore congressional candidate. the words faith and founders are directly targeted at social and tea party conservatives and not something you'd ever hear in a kirk ad.

the social moderate and business owning bit also need to be rethought because I've read I think that his parents run the company and the last thing he needs is a sealsesque resume issue.

tea party bashing has nothing to do with any of this.

Whenever Conservatives tap into something that rings true and connects with the American people, (like the Tea Parties, which are a reaction to massive gov't spending) the Left will attack, attack, attack with cries of racism, homophobia, sexism, catism, dogism, couchism, you name it - pick an "ism."

It's an old ploy from the Left and their lackeys in the Media...It works for them because their voter base is comprised of brain-dead, lemming, zombie-idiots.

But anyone with a functioning mind sees right through it. Don't worry, the Left can cry racism all day long. November will tell the real tale.

Dan Seals has almost no work ethic -- according to the DCCC staffers that spent millions to elect him the last two times and failed.

Dold works hard and is a moderate. Seals is sooo 2008, and didn't even win then....

Anonymous said...

Seals can't even vote for himself, for crying out loud!!!

What a joke. Anyone who votes for him really is an idiot.

Dan Seals will vote for Comrad Jan Shakowski, the woman who sees the tax breaks you receive for saving in 401Ks as "tax entitlements."

longtime readers of this blog will note that a few moons ago dan seals took a beating because he gave himself a salary from the campaign $ he raised because he was unemployed and too busy beating up israel to get a job like real americans.

He's apparently back to his old tricks. If you look at his fec report there are several thousand dollars worth of trips to jewel listed as "office expense". the liberals among you might say, yes, jewel sells office supplies, but then how do you explain the fact that the report also lists thousands of dollars in office supplies from actuall office suppy stores like office max.

Dan has to come clean and tell the 10th if he's back to using his camapagign credit card to pay for personal items.

FOKLAEPS, this might be shocking to you since you seem to have 0 actual campaign experience, but campaigns regularly buy food, sometimes they have volunteers bring it into the office too.

There are only $445 worth of expenses at Jewel. So unless Dan Seals is feeding his wife and 3 children on less than $5 a day, these expenses are campaign related.

I worked on the Jim Martin campaign in Georgia, and they went to the grocery store EVERY SINGLE DAY, one can only imagine what they were doing with all that food...

Next time try to stay away from stupid conspiracy theories.

FOKLAEAPS,

I dont have any particular reason to defend Dan Seals. In fact I am unhappy with him, because he lost to Kirk twice, when he should have won easily. But your "attacks" on him are funny. Let me put it like this. Even if Seals was "unemployed" as you wrote, he is still a much better candidate than the ones you support. You support Dold who thinks that tea parties have a "great voice" and Kirk who LIED about his MILITARY RECORD. Think about it. You are supporting someone who lied for years about his military record.

It is hard to imagine anything worse any candidate would do than to lie and misrepresent their military record for MANY YEARS. But you still support someone like that. Dont you think that, independently of politics, integrity should matter? Just checking...

we've learned over the last 6 years, there's no limit to how low the pup will go.

he's also going to the nutroots convention, team dold should have a tracker there.

Blue, aren't you tired of your tirade? Aren't you just plain tired of your one theme attack on Mark Kirk? The Congressman embellished a superior record of achievement over the past 21 years in the Navy Reserve. That's a proven NAVY fact. Are any of us happy with the fact that he embellished anything in his record? Of course not. That said, to continue your unceasing, tired old, same old attack just weakens your point. You have no point. No person on the planet hasn't, at some time or times, embellished accomplishments. Even YOU, Blue.
Mark Kirk has more positives than negatives and you simply can't accept it. What WE need to accept is that you are a broken record.

TA--

I noticed that you and Louis only gave Dolt $250 in the fundraising quarter that you seemed to think was crucial, is your support waivering for Bingo Bob? That low figure makes it seem like you don't have too much confidence in this guy, especially considering you gave Kirk $1,500 in 06 and $1,600 in 02. As the saying goes, money talks.

Oh, and for the peanut gallery, next time TA rails on Dick Durbin for his support of Alexi, please remind TA that he gave Durbin $250 in 06 and $250 in 07, which is twice what he's given Dolt.

CC,

Maybe you can answer why Seals' fundraising rate is falling off like a brick?

Team America said...

CC - good sleuthing on FEC filings, but the fact is I gave Dold "only" $250 because that's all I could afford. Lots of candidates and groups (for example, the Federation) have their hands out. If I could (or can) give more, I will. How much have you given Seals? Oh, that's not an issue? Well, OK, then.

As for Durbin, it's interesting that anyone has taken this long to notice that, but in fact I only gave him $250 once. That was because one of my law partners and mentors is a big Durbin supporter and he asked me to help out. Sometimes you do things like that just because. I'm sure you won't hold it against me. ;-)

The monetary value of Larry Falbe's contribution to Bob Dold = $250

The monetary value of Team America to the Dold Campaign: Priceless!

Anonymous said...

Nice, CC. I find it insulting that you can continue to miswrite Bob DolD's name, then add insult to injury with Bingo Bob comment. TA is a classy guy to continue to let you, Blue and some others continue to slam and rail like hell against anyone who says a damn thing against your guys.

It appears that Bingo Bob has deceived you on abortion, wonder what other issues he's been talking about from both sides of his mouth?

longtime readers of this blog know that dan seals in addition to being a lying loser is also a vacuum when it comes to sucking up campaign cash from dirty insiders.

today, charlie rangel, a major seals donor, was charged by his own house caucus with violating ethics rules. Perhaps if team dold is done figuring out their candidates position on abortion they can ask comrade seals to return the tainted 100's of 1,000's he's taken from rangel.

FOK-Flop,

Perhaps you've forgotten in your old age:

http://teamamerica10th.blogspot.com/2010/03/dan-seals-grudginly-gives-up-charlie.html

This is typical of you FOK-Flop, always bringing up things that are either irrelevant or settled to distract from the issues. Perhaps you should try giving Bingo Bob better advice in that area. It appears that Bob 'i'm more conservative then I let on' Dolt is actually more conservative then he let's on--at least planned parenthood and Illinois Right to Life think so.

In reviewing Dold's position statements going back to the primary, it appears to this independent observer that Dold has NOT changed his position on being pro-choice.

As I AM a catholic pro-lifer, I DO wish Bob Dold had a different position on this issue but I can't find a single instance where he stood with us pro-lifers.

Just because a group or for that matter, a blog (or blogger) says your position has changed doesn't mean it has. All the misrepresentation and name-calling out there makes it more difficult for voters to get the real information on each candidate.

It IS too bad this election will be 95% about the economy as we are going down such a dangerous road for the American family; killing our children.

How bout we all be 100% honest and stop the euphamism of "pro-choice" and call it what it is....."Pro abortion?" Now, who wants to stand up and call themselves "pro-abortion and say they favor killing children?" No, "pro-choise" .......dishonest as it is, sounds much better.

This is too important an issue to misrepresent ANYONE'S position on this.

Anon 5:39

You clearly care about the issue of abortion very much, as do many voters in this district. Doesn't it bother you that the man trying to become your Representative in Congress, the man that wants to be your voice, cannot even give you the courtesy of a straight answer?
Regardless of whether that answer is for or against a woman's right to choose, shouldn't he at least have to answer the question?

A campaign is like a job interview and it should be a candidate's unveiling of themselves to the people they want to represent. It is our duty to ask every question and demand answers because they are accountable to us, the voters. Nothing frustrates me more than a candidate who won't answer even the easy questions, much less the tough ones.

Until he can give us an answer on these basic questions like abortion rights, gun control or his taking funds from BP lobbyists, how can any of us take Double-Talk Dold seriously?

1 for super wealthy dnc donors

1 for regular dnc folk

0 for the pup.

FOKLAEAPS, yet again you're demonstrating your complete and utter lack of basic political knowledge.Joe Biden was here just 6 weeks ago.

President Obama has not hosted a single fundraiser for a single non-incumbent congressional candidate. And he's only done a few fundraisers for actual members of congress. Biden has been the one to do all of the campaigning and fundraising.

The real shock is that Bob Dold can't pull off a fundraiser with 3 campaigns, the entire Illinois Congressional delegation, and the top 4 House Republicans.
