Q3 Report: Bob Dold Raises Over $250,000 In IL-10

Team America has learned that 10th Congressional District hopeful Bob Dold has raised over $250,000 in his first quarter of fundraising as a candidate for the GOP nomination to success Congressman Mark Kirk.

Significantly, Dold has only been at the game for roughly a month since he officially announced his candidacy.

In another boost for Dold, he was endorsed by the Elk Grove Township Republicans (which required a super-majority of at least 60%). Illinois Review has more Elk Grove endorsements.

Dold looks like he is emerging as the front runner. He is raising good money, got the first endorsement and has been the only candidate willing to take Coulson on over her SEIU/Acorn ties.

I love it! The Republicans seem absolutely determined to lose that seat to Julie Hamos next fall! YellowDogDem

TA, it would be easier if you just put them all in one post like rich does with morning shorts.

-Dan's a serial liar and has to raise a lot of money now. Hamos has a better ground game. Dan had 600k at this point in 2007, he needs to show a bank account with over 800k to compensate for the ground troops julie will get. For reference, mikva went out of congress BEFORE jimmy carter.

-Green can probably drop 1 million, though it will get him 5 votes and coulson has a much better organization so this is a low number from dold. it's about a week of advertising in a race where the middle aged white guy businessman is a 3 way thing.

-I don't think mark's number is that great all things considered. Every jewish donor in the country is scared out of their minds right now about iran and that money should be there and isn't, not to mention he's the best candidate we've had for that seat in 40 years. Remember obama can raise what mark did with an email to his 12 million OFA list.

-the equalizer will be the blago trial. This will be the only story in illinois next year and all bad for dems and rinos like hamos and coulson.

FOKLAES, you're wrong about the Seals ground game. His volunteer base is incredibly deep, and not just in the southeast part of the district. Remember, the district goes as far north at waukegan and as far west as Palatine. If Seals and Hamos go 50-50 south of Lake-Cook Rd and east of the Spur, Seals will still win comfortably, because of his astronomically high name recognition and entrenched ground game. Say what you will about the overall value of a multiple-times candidate, but Dan's got a deep core of volunteers all over the district. That was evident at the Buffalo Grove Days Parade, where he had a huge contingent of supporters compared to Hamos, and got a big round of applause from Elliot Richardson's crew after the parade. Seals' path to the nomination is everything but uphill.

Tik,

Dan's greatest weakness is the fact that he's a serial liar who wouldn't know what to do with the truth if it hit him in the face.

That's going to end him next year when blago goes on trial-another liar- and the country continues to endure the economic times we're in while michelle "i hate america despite the fact no other 1st world country on the planet has elected someone like me first lady" obama jets around the world in fancy clothes they couldn't afford 5 years ago.

All it's going to take next year is 30 seconds of blago and seals on t.v. noting their lies with the background of that trial to finally force dan to get his first job in 8 years.

FOKLAES- the reason I usually like to do separate subjects as separate posts is that it seems to give greater visibility for Google Alerts and such out on the Internet.

That's nice, FOKLAES, but didn't really respond to what I said. Can I just assume I was right, then?

Dan Seals has been unemployed for six years.

I was at the Buffalo Grove parade handing out cookies for my bakery and I just had to say that Elliot Richardson's people were not applauding for Dan Seals, they were applauding for Elliot's speech that he gave his group after the parade was over. I stopped to listen for a while but couldn't hear much. They seemed like a nice campaign. I just had to clarify that as a politically active baker!

Thats' a solid start for Dold. Western Cook County endorsement and strong fundraising start. Looking like he is the one we have been looking for to take down SEIU and their gal Beth Coulson.

you have to figure cadigan will get an endorsement out of porter. It won't mean as much as 10 years ago, but it might help.

there was a post on Illinois review that dold is telling people he is pro-life. That won't help.

if dold raised 250,000 all from donors that is really impressive. if most of that money is from loans to the campaign or from himself that is still a decent posting but not too impressive.

I have heard Dold speak at numerous events and he has consistently said he is pro-choice. As a pro-life voter I've been listening closely. The pro-life candidate in the race is Patrick Anderson from Deerfield. Dold like most of the others supports parent notification and a ban of federal funding. Coulson is far to the left and doesn't support parent notification and has taken substantial amounts of money from NARAL type groups.

Anon 8:32. That is not correct. I was at the West Deerfield Twp candidate forum and Dold fumbled the abortion question. In response to a direct question, he couldn't or wouldn't say whether he was pro-choice or pro-life. There was only awkward silence.

My concern about dold and cadigan and green is that standard issue republicans have been murdered here lately. I think things will improve slightly, but this is nowhere near the district that it was 10 years ago when Mark firstran. He's pulled out every rabbitt from the hat the last 4 years to beat dan, while other republicans like him around the country (simmons, shays, morella, leach, nancy johnson, sue kelly, melissa hart, boehlert, tom davis) have either been killed off or quit because they couldn't win and because scum like mckenna have murdered the party.

Mark raised 5 milllion last year and barely survived. which ever dem wins has 2.2. million waiting for them the last week of october 2010. we wont.

Also dold needs to stop lying about his white house experience. He was an advance guy which is about equal with cleaning toilets or setting up state dinners. Not policy, not press, not political.

I wanted to circle back with Concerned Colonial....

Remember me? I was the one that told you a month ago that Kirk would dwarf Alexi in money raised this quarter. You disagreed and are no proven wrong. Kirk is going to win this election...even if Alexi throws his own money in to compensate for his idiocy.

Kirk's Team looks solid. Sorry to the others but it's undeniable.
