New Rasmussen Poll Has Mark Kirk Ahead of Alexi Giannoulias, 45% to 41%

A new Rasmussen poll has Republican Congressman Mark Kirk ahead of Democrat Alexi Giannoulias, 45% to 41%. This is obviously still very close, and these polls have all been bouncing around lately within a few points of each other, so we're by no means ready to break out the champagne... but it's nice to see. Let's hope this is the start of a Kirk breakaway.

I am not suprised by this new poll number from Rasmussen. Once you hear the stupid comments made by Alexi during the Tribune Endorsement meeting yesterday you'll scratch your head in amazement that this guy actually thinks he has what it takes to be a US Senator. Either he doesn't understand the question, which was very clear to one with average intellect, or he truly IS clueless. Either way, Alexi needs to don that basketball union and hope that some Greek team still has room for him on their team. Geez, it was almost funny listening to him trying to answer a simple question. He never did.

AG is a guy who has been living off his family money and sound bites for just too long now. He is soooooooo far over his head.

He almost sounded like a guy brand new to his candidacy.

What a shocker.

Alexi - promise us that when you lose you won't pull a Dan Seals and just keep running for office as a full time job.

Illinois already has enough political jokes.
