I'm pressed for time this morning, so as a quick follow-up to our previous story on this issue, I am going to put up a press release I just got from the Kirk Campaign and we'll discuss this more later:
Kirk Campaign Expresses Serious Concern over Report that Giannoulias Event Host Intimidated Young Woman after Fundraiser
Giannoulias should identify all those involved, terminate affiliation with the campaign and apologize to the people of Illinois
Northbrook, Ill. – The Kirk for Senate campaign today expressed serious concern regarding a report in Politico that a campaign fundraiser for Alexi Giannoulias' Senate campaign intimidated a young woman in Washington, D.C. following a campaign fundraiser last week.
The report follows a video that surfaced on the Web last week showing Giannoulias campaign affiliates manhandling a videographer at a Giannoulias DC fundraiser.
“The news that Alexi Giannoulias’ campaign event host intimidated a young woman at her home in Washington following the campaign’s DC fundraiser raises serious concerns with regard to the integrity of the Giannoulias campaign and its associates,” Kirk spokesperson Kirsten Kukowski said. “We call on Alexi Giannoulias to immediately apologize for his campaign affiliates' intimidation tactics, publicly identify all those involved and terminate all association with them.”

TA,
I find entertaining your efforts to find "bad things" in the Giannoulias and Seals fund raising events with Biden. I did not go, but I have heard from people who were there, and there were great events that the hosts enjoyed.
Sorry, but it is not easy to change the subject. The misrepresentations, lies and exaggerations of the Kirk campaign have accumulated to record breaking numbers. They are enough to write a book. It is one thing to have a candidate like Blumenthal who lied on single subject. But in Kirk's case, we have several, one after the other. Naturally, this sort of pattern creates major questions about a candidate. And voters are not stupid.
As for Dold, he stands no chance in IL10. An anti-choice, Palin-like candidate, is not electable in IL10. In fact, I am surprised that you are supporting Dold yourself. You sound like a rational, socially-liberal, republican and I really dont understand how you could support someone like Doll.
Cheers,
Blue Wind
Correction: I meant to say that the guests enjoyed.
It's YOU, Blue, who's changing the subject, not Team America. Today is a new day, or don't you have a calendar handy. You and your buddies want to keep hammering a more than dead issue on Kirk's embellishing a truly outstanding Navy record. You and your buddies want to call it lies. He, like you and every other human on the planet, has embellished and enhanced who and what we are at times in our lives. Kirk will call a press event, let the reporters ask any questions that haven't been asked and answered over and over and over. My bet is that you and your buddies will still be chewing on stale gum. That's your only point in posting and, for that matter, in life.
The fact of the matter is that Kirk DID serve in those battles, the fact is that Kirk continues to serve each month, and he did teach in London. But HE will answer those reporters and then I hope you will fold your tents and get on with your exciting lives.
I guess all of Ellen's friends have deserted her (and Carl's) blog because this is a better one, but frankly I find their long-winded Democrat diatribes a bore. Sure they support their candidate, and that's fine, but all they do is firm up my resolve to work hard for Mark Kirk in the upcoming months.
Anon 9:32,
No, it is not me. There are so many deceptions in the case of Kirk that naturally raise serious questions. Just in case you missed it, I dont control the Chicago tribune, the Chicago Sun Times, the New York times and the local Chicago news who keep coming back and asking again and again questions about Kirk's record and keep discovering and raising new issues. They are doing that, not me. Apparently, they have very good reasons. Face reality.
Blue Wind,
Dold is pro-choice...If you ever took the time to un-plant your head from your rectum you may just learn a thing or two.
Next time, check the facts before you spew your drivel.
Anon 10:15,
Can you please provide a link in which Dold makes clear that he is NOT against abortion? And that he supports the idea that any health care coverage should cover abortions (so all women have equal rights)? If you can provide that, I will retract my comment. I still believe that Dold is against the right of women to chose, but I look forward to get a link from you and correct my statement if wrong. Thanks.
In the 2000 primary we heard mark had no chance because he had no money, donnelly was a woman and damisch could play the piano.
WRONG.
the general we heard that gash had a 12 year head start, no primary, no bush and lieberman to get the jewish vote out for her and would win easily.
wrong.
In 2002 we heard the 10th gop had no shot because redistricting would be brutal and mark would have to run on the bush record.
wrong
in 2004 we heard mark was a bush republican and the democrat nominee would carry them throung.
wrong
in 2006 we heard mark would be tied to bush and the wave woul over take him.
wrong
in 2008 we heard that obama would carry seals through and mark would be beaten.
wrong
in 2010 when gop voter intensity is at an all time high, a democrat governor is headed for jail and the democrats are finally accountable and for the first time have no bush to blame we hear the gop has no shot.
wrong.
Last year
Obama backed democrat governor in democrat virginia
he got crushed.
obama backed democrat governor in democrat new jersey
he got crushed
obama backed democrat attorney general for ted kennedy's seat in democrat massachusettes.
she got crushed.
obama backed democrat senator in democrat pennsylvania. he got crushed after 50 years in politics.
From all of this.
1. 10th democrats win the trash talking game, they lose the results game.
2. Obama ties mean nothing in blue states.
3. This is the best environment for republicans here since 1998.
FOKLAEPS
Bowel Wind, it is so wonderful that you think Dold will lose based on reasons that are not true. The fact is that Dold is pro-choice, and he is not a tea-party guy (for gun control nuff' said).
You are campaigning against someone who you want to run against not the person you actually are running against. I wonder if you really believe your spin, or know in your heart that you are a liar?? Anyway, I digress, the long and short of it is that you are campainging on misinformation, which reveals to me, at least, that you know that Dan Seals will lose if the people of the 10th get to know who Bob really is. That is a truth that must suck for you guys over at Seals HQ.
Dold is for gun control???
Amazing at how you conservatives have to resort to 2nd grade name calling (bowel wind??). Pathetic.
If Dold is pro-choice, perhaps someone can explain why he's endorsed by 2 strong anti-choice groups - Illinois Federation for Right to Life and Phyllis Schlafly's Eagle Forum (also against equal rights/pay for women - a nice touch. sure to endear the guy to the voters here too).
Please. You can believe what Dold says, just as you believe Kirk. Or you can look at who's supporting him and understand the discussion that had to have led to those endorsements. That is you can be blindly accepting or you can actually think. Oh - I guess if you were the thinking type, you'd be supporting Seals.
Again, the Seals folks misrepresenting Dold's position on abortion because they know that they can't beat him on his real positions. Very comforting for Dold-camp I am sure.
Bowel-wind, can you give us the skinny on why Seals fired his entire staff shortly after conducting a poll of the District?
Tenth Voter, nobody in the 10th has wanted your guy in the past 2 elections. Nobody with brains will want him this time around as well. He is an empty suit with nothing to show for his time on this planet. What does he do all day? Oh yes, he campaigns for a living. When was the last time he did anything of a volunteer nature to help those who need some help. Oh yes, he's too damn busy campaigning.
He's a has been who never was.
Tenth Voter makes a very real point that TA, FOKLAES and others have decided to ignore. Where's Dold on abortion? Where's Dold on gun control? Where's Dold on Stem-cell research or prayer in schools or any other social issue which defines our political landscape. He's in the same place Kirk was: HIDING and SILENT.
I don't know about all of you, but I want my representative to be someone who's willing to answer the hard questions and be transparent in his beliefs. Dold isn't even willing to answer the EASY question of how he feels about these key issues, what is he going to do when asked to cast a vote on them? Hide behind press releases and staffers? Run away? Not vote?
Say what you want about Seals being a business consultant or about him living 10 meters away from the district line, but the man has taken a firm position on every issue and has not been afraid to answer the tough questions. Dold's response to abortion as that he "can't challenge Roe v. Wade"?? (likely because he isn't running to be a judge or Attorney General) Yet he is endorsed by 2 groups that oppose a women's right to choose. He won't take a position on gun control, other than to say that he supports the 2nd amendment yet also supports gun laws. Which is it? Dold makes John Kerry look consistent.
Dold may have gotten rich from his dad's pest control business, but his dad clearly didn't teach him about the honor and integrity that comes with being able to answer a question. This district needs more and this district deserves more. We shouldn't accept candidates who run, duck, and hide from the media or from their constituents.
Until Next Time,
A Concerned Colonial
TA,
You have declared yourself a supporter of Dold. Again, I am very surprised by that, because you do not sound at all like a Sarah Palin-type republican. Can you please enlighten us on Dold's positions on:
1. Abortion.
2. Embryonic stem cell research.
3. Gun control.
I assume you are aware of his positions on these issues, as you are supporting him. Or am I wrong?
Blue Wind,
Come on, you know that Republicans don't talk about policy or issues. They honestly should just rename their party the "Grand Vague Platitude" because that is all they offer. No solutions, no plans, no ideas, just a lot of "no" (and blame game). President Andrew Shepherd of The American President put it best: "No matter what your problem is I can assure you that Bob's not the least bit interested. He's interested in two things and two things alone: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it."
Dold doesn't talk about issues. He says 'job creation' and the only plan he offers is tax cuts for the rich. He says he understands foreign policy, but the only plan he has is "be nice to Israel".
This man is drastically under qualified and has no solutions to the point that I don't even know if Bob realizes there are problems.
Blue, don't hold your breath. We've been waiting a long time for TA and Dold to talk policy and I'm not holding my breath for that to change anytime soon.
Until Next Time,
A Concerned Colonial
Anon @ 12:42 when has Dolt ever said that he supported gun control?
From Bob's website:
Republican Majority for Choice PAC Endorses Robert Dold for IL-10
Press Release, 6/18/2010
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Republican Majority for Choice PAC, the largest pro-choice advocacy group in the GOP, announced its formal endorsement of Robert Dold’s campaign for Illinois’ Tenth Congressional District.
“We are proud to extend our support to Robert Dold in his bid for Congress,” said Candy Straight, RMC National Co-Chair. “In these tough economic times, Bob brings to the table years of successful small business experience and has first hand knowledge of the impact federal policy has businesses and employees that depend on them. We are confident that he will be an independent leader in Congress who will bring vital real life experience to the table."
“Robert embraces the real Republican values of personal freedom, fiscal responsibility, and limited government. He has been vocal of his support of reproductive freedoms and keeping government out of personal medical decisions,” continued Straight.
Republican Majority for Choice PAC proudly endorses the election of viable pro-choice Republican candidates who support the full range of reproductive options remaining available including education, prevention, motherhood, abstinence, adoption, and safe, legal abortion. Republican Majority for Choice and its PAC are chaired by Candy Straight, Susan Bevan, Susan Cullman, and Anne Frame.
“We are confident that Robert will be an active pro-choice Republican in the United States Congress, who supports access to common sense family planning initiatives, abortion care, and comprehensive sex education,” said Kellie Ferguson, RMC Executive Director.
“Robert Dold is a steadfast ally in preserving the core principle upon which our Party was founded: individuals, not government, are best equipped to make private decisions for themselves and their families," continued Ferguson. "We support his integrity and dedication to bringing our Party back to its roots of individual freedom and limited government intrusion on issues of personal conscience."

Letter of Support from Congresswoman Judy Biggert

Mr. Robert Dold
Dold for Congress
P.O. Box 8145
Northfield, Illinois 60093
Dear Bob,
As a member of the Republican Majority for Choice Advisory Committee I am pleased to congratulate you on receiving the organization's endorsement in the race for Congress in Illinois' 10th District. Unfortunately, my duties in Washington prevent me from joining you on this occasion.
This endorsement is a recognition of your belief in a broad, inclusive Republican majority and commitment to protecting reproductive rights. These principles are important to so many members of our Party and I look forward to your continuing the long tradition of independent GOP leadership from the 10th District.
Again, congratulations and best wishes to you as you continue to campaign towards a November victory.
Sincerely,
Judy Biggert
Member of Congress
CC, You can question the man's policy differences, but question his integrity and you are out of bounds. Thank god voters are tired of hate politics.

Anon 6:13,
Your last post is kind of funny. You can not answer three very easy questions I posted regarding Dold, and your only escape is to start calling others names. What is it so difficult to answer these very simple questions? Where does Dold stand on:
1. Abortion.
2. Embryonic stem cell research.
3. Gun control.
If you and or TA can not answer these extremely simple questions, what can I say.
Cheers,
Blue Wind
Uh oh...
"Americans are more pessimistic about the state of the country and less confident in President Barack Obama's leadership than at any point since Mr. Obama entered the White House, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll...Sixty-two percent of adults in the survey feel the country is on the wrong track, the highest level since before the 2008 election. Just one-third think the economy will get better over the next year, a 7-point drop from a month ago and the low point of Mr. Obama's tenure. Amid anxiety over the nation's course, support for Mr. Obama and other incumbents is eroding. For the first time, more people disapprove of Mr. Obama's job performance than approve. And 57% of voters would prefer to elect a new person to Congress than re-elect their local representatives, the highest share in 18 years.
The results show "a really ugly mood and an unhappy electorate," said Democratic pollster Peter Hart, who conducts the Journal/NBC poll with GOP pollster Bill McInturff. "The voters, I think, are just looking for change, and that means bad news for incumbents and in particular for the Democrats.""
hmmmmmm, I wonder if the voters see change from the status quo in a two-time loser, Obama wanna-be, but without the likability, charisma or intelligence?
No wonder CC is attacking Dold's integrity, as CC must surely is increasingly feeling like the wounded rat in the corner.
Bowel wind, there is absolutely no reason to answer to you, although I think you most certainly got your answer on abortion in no fewer than five postings on this thread. Your blinders prevent you from understanding, I guess.
And anyway, you were asked a question at 5:57pm that you have not answered????
Hey, Blue, no comment on the letters of support and the clear message that Robert Dold IS pro-choice? You and your buddies owe Mr. Dold an apology. Somehow I know it won't happen because you folks are truly the gang who simply can't shoot straight. Bob Dold has said on many occasions that he strongly supports embryonic stem cell research. He has stated openly that he supports the 2nd Amendment but wants sensible controls, no different than most credible people in the nation. Your nasty, inaccurate attacks and charges against Bob Dold are old, sickeningly tired, but true to your form. Have a great day.
I am a republican and and there is no chance whatsoever that I will vote for Dan. But I would like to know what you Dold folks mean by "sensible controls" on firearms. Do you mean registration? Do you mean opposition to concealed carry? What exactly are you talking about?
The reason I ask is that I'm getting tired of people who think it is OK to be mushy about a constitutionally enumerated right. Speak up one way or another or I will assume you are on the wrong side of the issue.
Anon 8:08 is the perfect example of the point I am trying to prove. Dold REFUSES to answer the tough questions. I applaud his campaign staff for posting his endorsement by Pro-Choice Republicans (all 10 of them), but then does that mean that Dold is both pro-choice and pro-life? Plus, is a Republican group going to endorse a Democrat? I don't think so. Dold, like Kirk, wants it both ways and as a result is not going to answer questions about his beliefs, I guess the voters of the tenth are going to have to look elsewhere for real leadership.
It is a serious moral conflict for Dold to accept the endorsement of a pro-choice group and a Right to Life group. This only shows that the man has no true beliefs, no true convictions, and honestly no ideas for this district. I know I will not be the only one calling on him to rebuke one of those endorsements. If he refuses to, I cannot wait to watch as local media compares Dold to an IHOP. In fact, between him and Kirk, we really have the Walker Brothers...flipping-flopping, ducking and dodging, and running away from the even the easiest of questions.
To Anon 6:13 (also likely a Dold staffer), if a candidate is unwilling to speak about his positions on issues which many voters (including myself) care very strongly about, it is not only right to question that candidate's integrity, it is necessary to do so in our democracy. This government was built upon questioning those who want to be our leaders and if Dold thinks he can get our votes with shiny hair cut and used-car salesman smile, he should think again. We need to hold our elected officials to a higher standard and Dold's strategy of using the 5 Ds of Dodgeball to talk about important issues is unacceptable and below the level of excellence that should be demanded in this district. Dan Seals is far from perfect, but at least he is willing to answer the tough questions, even if it's an answer that a particular person may not want to hear. Dold won't even give us the courtesy of giving us a answer with which to compare it.
Until Next Time,
A Concerned Colonial
I love it when Seals staffers claim to be Republicans voting for Dan Seals. How pathetic and predictable.
CC, you keep saying the same thing over and over again. Your position is refuted over and over again.
CC is at least doing me a favor: he has now pointed out something about Seals that I can't find any fault with: his haircut.
