Today, Jewish groups are gathering to protest the arrival of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the U.N. General Assembly. Just last week, the Iranian leader again pledged Israel's destruction. Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency's most recent reports shows Iran is rapidly expanding its nuclear program -- and draws closer and closer to realizing its vision of a world without Israel.
If you support Israel, is Dan Seals worth the risk? Here's the latest video that's surfaced online after Seals hosted Congressman Howard Berman for a fundraiser in Highland Park.
To set the record straight, today I'm unveiling the first issues page on the "Real Deal Seals" -- Dan Seals on Israel.
By the way, in case you didn't figure it out already, the correct answer to the blog title is NO.

Dan Seals and Kathy Ryg had Kathy's mom (at least over 70 years old) out canvassing in Wheeling yesterday afternoon in the hot sun.
Shameful.
Damning to say the least. Seals cannot be trusted.
This should be blast emailed to jewish supporters of team kirk pronto. Lawlor, Winters, Bueller?
Also got the Karen May mailer today that looks like the theme for a bat mitzvah only without any sort of demonstration of anything learned or done.
sad.
Howard Berman, who is Jewish, has stood in the way of Congressman Kirk's anti-Iranian resolutions. Can we ask Dan why he chooses to invite a guy to come here, shill for him, when Berman should be held accountable for holding Mr. Kirk's legislation hostage? Seals chooses all the wrong people to help him. I pray that this district has the brains to see through this half-wit before it's too late. Didn't I read that Seals is a U of C graduate? Perhaps we ought to check that out very carefully because he's a disgrace to that venerable institution.
As for blast emailing this to all of Congressman Kirk's 10th district supporters. They know that Mark has no equal on his commitment to Israel's secure future. Those who are partisan Democrats will just delete it as Ms.Gill does when someone posts the truth. Israel's top leaders know Mark Kirk, applaud his one of a kind leadership. They can't understand how anyone who claims to be pro-Israel would not recognize this man's leadership. I've stopped wondering about them a long time ago.
Anon 5:56, the Kirk team is doing an amazing job of getting the message to the district. Not sure why you mention some of the best staffers ever, but rest assured, they know what they're doing, they have a plan, they're working the plan and I'm more than optimistic about the results on 11/4. I'd also like to suggest that while the Jewish population of this district is disproportionately large relative to other districts, the majority of 10th district voters are not Jewish. Mark Kirk has made promises that he has kept that have a positive effect on everything that matters to everyone in this district. The campaign team is outstanding. They are focused, energized and working to bring a win 'home' on November 4.
What a bunch of assinine, typical fear-mongering crap. Iran has nothing to gain and everything to lose by attacking Israel, and their leaders are not so stupid as not to realize as much. And spare me the comparisons to Hitler, who actually stood a chance at winning. There's no comparison. Iran has not attacked anyone in decades, regardless of their president's hot-headed rhetoric. The same cannot be said for Israel or the United States.
Anon 9:28- every once in a while I get a post that I suspect comes from a well-meaning but not-too-bright Republican who thinks maybe they are doing a service by posting stuff so asinine that it gets everyone riled up and motivated to go out and kick Seals' ass. That was one of them.
I don't think it's very effective, but I admire your spunk.
If I'm wrong, then God help you and anyone who votes for Dan Seals on the basis that all we need to do is huddle around a campfire with the Iranian government and hug and sing songs.
Anyone with state party experience is highly suspect. FYI McGovern and O'Brien are in the staffer hall of fame for the epic win over gephardt's mafia. By term 4 you are planning a leadership bid, chairmanship, hello foreign ops?, or statewide for senate/governor, not dealing with a third tier executive agency pmf scrub and invigorated nutjob organization.
Mark needs to put the effort into building the party locally that he does to dod so that he won't get screwed with redistricting 4 years from now. Ask Rep. Crane or Congressman Frost, or Congressman Phelps how easy it is to serve when you get wacked because you didn't invest in local state senate districts to save your hide at redistricting.
Mark also has a new anti-dan ad up, something on healthcare.
Anon 9:28, your comment is stunning. Stunning since it's naive and borders on ignornat. Wake up. Nobody is fear mongering. Some are actually dealing with reality and, unlike you, stand up, speak out in the hope that we can avoid what comes with burying one's head in the sand. Had someone actually acted upon what was obvious back in 1933 perhaps history would have been very different. You go and sit under the tree and sing love songs. I choose to recall the profound words of George Santayana: those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.
Europeans and the US did not take action against the Nazis AFTER they had invaded Czechoslavakia. Iran has not attacked anyone. It's an apples/oranges comparison.

Unlike Germany, Iran has a worldwide clandestine surrogate that has and continues to attack U.S. allies. It's called Hezbollah. Get a clue.

Lone Wolf, Kathy's Mom is an old, old, old hand (and she's way over 70) at canvassing so the hot sun probably didn't bother her. Anything to get her darling daughter and her democrats elected. Have you seen the combined sign? Link on top, Ryg on the bottom. Now that's something Gray and Sugrue should capitalize on. Of course, Ryg has no mind of her own. She votes "like they tell me to" according to a source who heard that response from her a few years ago as they were getting ready to vote on an issue. What is it going to take to get these voters to open up their eyes to the kind of people they are voting into office. I've heard comments like:
Well, "MSK's had his time in office and I think it's time to give DS a turn" to "her mother's my friend so I'll vote for her daughter." Pitiful!
Anon 11:26,
Does that mean Mogge makes the Wall of Shame when he loses his third congressional in a row?
Anon 2:09,
Hezballah formed in the early 80s to oppose to first Israeli occupation of Lebannon just like numerous indigenous Iraqi groups oppose the U.S. occupation of their country.
As a formally state-backed entity, the SS and SA had far greater power and financial backing than any non-state group.
