Sun-Times: Kirk is Republicans' Best Hope for U.S. Senate; Plus "Leadership" T.V. Ad

The Chicago Sun-Times joined the Daily Herald in making a strong endorsement of Congressman Mark Kirk for the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate race. The Sun-Times said:

Republicans have a chance to reverse their fortunes with a quality candidate who could hand the Democrats an embarrassment in November by capturing Obama’s former Senate seat. That candidate is Mark Kirk. [snip]

Republicans looking for a winner in November will stick with Kirk. His district returned him to Congress by a comfortable margin in 2008, even as it went for Obama. Kirk is such a formidable candidate that he scared the Democratic powers in Springfield out of holding a special election to replace Obama in the Senate, setting the stage for the farce of Rod Blagojevich appointing Roland Burris.

Illinois deserves better, and Kirk could deliver for the GOP and the state.

Yup.

Also, here is Mark Kirk's first statewide T.V. ad, "Leadership", which will be on a cable channel near you.

Its not a matter of 'if' its a matter of by how much.

Downstaters (such as farmers, coal related employment, and gun owners),love Kirk. His vote on Cap and Trade is also a plus.

I'm not saying this as if to write off the downstate vote, but if the downstate vote was as huge as some claim it to be , Bill Brady would have been our candidate for Governor last time around, not Judy Baar.

No one seems to be covering this ad besides this blog.

Does anyone know why?
