Today GOP Congressional candidate Bob Dold released his third quarter fundraising results, which were over $800,000:
Dold Sets Fundraising Record
Winnetka, IL – Today, 10th District Congressional Candidate Robert Dold announced a record fundraising quarter of well over $800,000, more than 70 percent increase from second quarter totals. Dold will file exact numbers with the Federal Election Committee before the October 15 deadline.
This year Dold has raised $513,000 in the first quarter, $578,000 in the second quarter and more than $800,000 in the third quarter.
“These donations reflect the voices of our supporters who are growing in number each day,” said Dold. “You can see the increasing support in many ways: a growing volunteer base, record fundraising and more Facebook friends.”
Dold continued, “More and more people are showing their support for the message that we need to change direction in Washington to cut spending and to foster an environment that will allow small businesses to grow and get people back to work.”
###
It's too early to chortle yet, since we don't know how third-time Dem nominee Dan Seals fared in fundraising, but suffice it to say that Bob's successful Q3 efforts means that he will be able to compete in this tough race in the notoriously expense Chicago media market leading up to November 2.

Hey TA, can you get any more numbers from Team Dold, I'd love to see how much of that number came from individual donors? I bet the grassroots have been just set on fire with how much they support Dold.
Maybe not.
good work but someone (fielding?) might want to teach team dold the english language. 800k is less than mark raised in several quarters and it's not a national or even state record so the headline needs to read
"personal fundraising record".
another klopp flop or folino imbroglio. take your pick.
FOKLAEAPS
Back off, Foklaeps, will you please. Raising over 800K is phenomenol and you know it. Kirk raised more in some years, less in others. Why do you want to compare the two men and the two campaigns? Folino and Klopp have virtually nothing to do with the Finance team. I've been to several of the Dold events and neither attended any of these funders. I'll tell you one thing, Bob Dold has one of the most dedicated Finance team members I've ever seen and I've been around a long time. Credit them for one helluva great job.
the communications director writes the press release. the campaign manager answers to the candidate when the press release is not truthful and the candidate gets his 5,000th unnecessary bad press hit in 10 days because they tried to get cute. Finance teams don't write press releases.
I agree it's good work, but they need to be upfront about it.
the nrcc is still on the air supporting him so thats a good sign for him
FOKLAEAPS
Wow!!!!! Who would have thought a non-incumbent running in Kirk's old District could do this??? (You have to think that so much of the IL-10 $$$ still goes to Kirk)
If Dan doesn't match him (at least VERY close) it may already be over. It is well known that the DCCC cringed when he won the primary and they don't want more big government candidates but ones that reflect their NEW values of fiscal conservatism.
It's all getting very interesting.
P.S. - I have also had some contact with the DOLD fundraising team and they are razor sharp and working tirelessly.
TA--
Nice to see some solid Klopp-approved comments on this thread. My wonder is how much of Bingo Bob's money came from the NPMA, NRCC and/or self-financing. After all NPMA already handed a nice fat check to their candidate.
I wonder what Bob's next move will be since he doesn't have plans for immigration and can't seem to refute pro-life endorsements. Only time will tell...until then, Dan's 13 point lead will only expand.

I have to believe that given his five plus years on the ground and that this is his third election, Dan HAS to exceed Dold by at least 100K to look like he's still up. It really is impressive that Dold can turn in these numbers and a credit to his volunteers.
BTW, I was driving through Waukegan today and saw about three or four signs for Dold to every one for Seals; that's right....WAUKEGAN!!!
Can it be????
Anon 7:47 - Saw the same thing.....thought I had taken a wrong turn and was in wheeling.
You're right, ton's of stuff up for Dold. Saw quite a few Seals signs too but many more Dold. Surprising anyways.
Very strong showing. Seals is going to have to depend on his Union cronies and the SEIU crowd to fund his camapign of negativity.
Seals is clearly running scared. He's spewing negativity while Dold is reaching voters with a positive message. No one goes this negative this early if they think they are in a strong position.
In a strange way, I guess I can understand why Seals is willing to do anything to win this race. If he loses he is broke and jobless with no marketable skillset.
There you go, CC, no facts to back up your outrageously false claim of self-funding by Bob Dold. Not a penny has he put into this election. You are so off base you just join the chorus of the baseless, pathetic Democrat attacks that are backfiring on Seals. It should. He knows that Bob Dold carries exactly the same position as Kirk and of Porter before him. The red flyer put out by the DCCC is further proof that you, Seals and the outside money in your guy's campaign is simply ugly and false. 13 point lead? You really are buying what the fools are spoon feeding. In 28 days, CC, I think you'll have to deal with reality.
Dan Seals is up 13 points, just like Dan Seals is a small businessman. I think the Seals spinbots and actually believing their own lies. It is amusing to hear these rats' screetching as the pest control technician tightens his grip.....
TA--
The Daily Herald has taken Dolt to task for his anti-choice stances. Perhaps you can still get Coulson to run as a third party?

Glad to see that Kelly is too busy posting approved comments on here to actually give an intelligent response to a reporter. Also noticed that none of the Dolt flunkies denied Bingo Bob taking special interest money. Who needs lobbying when the NPMA can just have their own member?!

Was at a small business forum this morning in Lake County...........When it came up that Dan Seals was pro-business, fiscal conservative the whole place erupted in laughter. The concensus is that all Seals can talk about is Bob Dold.
It really would be funny except that the reality is that people don't see him for what he is............someone that will DO OR SAY ANYTHING to get elected this time around.
Dold is far from perfect but at least he's not the stereotypical failed politician that Seals is. It really would be funny that he is running if it weren't true.
Here's a great new one:
Seals now says that he was cut out of the District in the last redistricting!!!!
What WON'T this guy say to get elected???
He should just go back to being a small businessman.......
Wait, I mean a consultant..............
Wait, I mean a professor............
Wait, I mean a lecturer..........
Oh what was the last claim? It's so hard to figure out when his greatest source of income these last six years was his campaign contributors largesse.
Pretty good gig if you can get it!!!! So for everyone on the fence out there, vote for Dold but give to Seals.............I bet his wife is getting tired of supporting him and we can't give him a job in Washington!
Hey, CC, you ARE aware that the Tribune has called out your guy for distorting Bob DOLD'S positions. Guess you missed that one. Seals is a pathetic guy surrounded by a staff so out of touch with the voters in this district that it's almost laughable. Seals plays at all the jobs he claims to have held. The Kirk team uncovered all that crap in the last election. CC, get the TRUE facts about Bob DOLD and his positions and stop the incessant replaying of whatever those Seals folks give you to play out on TA's Blog. You and they are old, tiring and not very funny.
Yes CC, and the Daily Herald, as widely read as it is, is a true bastion of fair and balanced reporting. Not sure I've seen anything so blatantly anti-republican since I cancelled my subscription to the New York Times.
I think Kirk's record for a quarter was somewhere in the 850 range, so 800 is a monster for a non-incumbent. If Seals can't match it, which I think they would have already crowed about if they had, watch for the national Dem money to leave town faster than a Lake Forest Obama voter.
Foklaeaps - there is no negative story here other than what you put in there - which begs the question, why would you in the first place? I know you are a huge Kirk defender, and that's just fine, but you don't have to disparage a campaign for trying to create a little news - which is their job by the way - when the media won't report anything.
If you haven't noticed, there is a dearth of coverage of this race - everywhere. The only thing the media want to report on is the horserace aspect - or money aspect. This will get a big positive hit for team Dold.
Anon @ 4:38
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. A positive media hit? Voters don't make up their mind based on fundraising, and the best you can possibly hope for is a one day story "Dold Outraises Seals".
Secondly, there's been plenty of coverage this past week, which didn't focus on the horse race... it all focused on Dold's ineptitude.

Dold took the lead in this race today.
How did Dold take the lead, he's had nothing but one bad day after another?
Did Dold finally decide to poll the race since we're just under 30 days out?
Saw the same numbers; Dold up one. Still within the margin of error but seems Seals' lead is gone.
Where is this polling from? It would be great if true.
WSJ had something in today regarding the race being neck and neck; that's means Seals' 13 point "lead" vanished in three weeks??????
Dold had an OUTSTANDING fundraising quarter; AMAZING!!!
There's word on the street that Seals terminated another campaign Manager today; (that's three gone this year) and word is that the DCCC is bringing in someone until November 2. Don't think this bodes well for the campaign. Makes Seals look like a Dem. party hack jumping at their whim.
So in three days:
Great $$$$ raised for DOLD
Seals' lead is GONE
DCCC terminates Seals' campaign Manager.
IF this is true - Dold is catching fire at just the wrong time and Seals LOOKS like he is dying. Not saying the race is over but the Seals lifeboat may have sprung a big leak.
SEALS is a joke, pure and simple. He WILL say or do anything to get elected.
The last SIX YEARS he has been living off his wife, his trust fund, and the generosity of his donors (His GREATEST source of income has been what he has paid himself from the campaign) check the FEC reports!!!!
He has gotten by campaigning on sound bites furnished by Pelosi and the DCCC.
Dan, the day of reckoning has come. You WILL have to go out and get a real job after all this and support your family after all. Stop looking to others to solve your problems. Man up.
Looking forward to Seals' fundraising numbers.
Also heard the rumor regarding terminated Campaign Manager for Seals. DCCC/Pelosi on the way!!!
First off, all new/anonymous commenters please pick a screen name, because it's difficult to tell if there's a bunch of people saying something or just one overly enthusiastic poster.
I saw the WSJ journal and I think the Anonymouses are reading way too much into one sentence. Your average reporter will check the Rothenberg/Cook, and given that both rate this race as a "Toss Up" it's not surprising that the reporter would write that the race is "neck and neck". So unless there's some poll floating around that Dold hasn't released. It wouldn't make sense for Dold to poll now, since it's too late for him to design/shift to a new message. So I'm not sure there even is a poll.
