Lake County News-Sun: “The 10th District has a gem in Mark Kirk”

The Lake County News-Sun nails it:

“The 10th District has a gem in Mark Kirk, and voters should keep him in Washington.”

It also says: “This is the second matchup between Kirk and [challenger Dan] Seals and, frankly, we have heard nothing new from the challenger this go-around to sway us from backing the congressman for another term.”

Nailed it again.

TA

Just finished reading the News Sun endorsement. The story tells why our Congressman is the best and everyone needs to get behind him on November 4.

You can feel the wheels falling off the Seals campaign.

One of the best endorsement pieces I've read. Well earned, Congressman. Do you suppose that the other blog will have something truly nasty to say about the News Sun? Regardless of the great endorsement, with more to come from other papers I'm sure, the fact still remains: we need everyone to get out the vote for our Congressman on November 4, to call the Kirk for Congress campaign office, 847 498-0300, to offer to help out on Election Day or before, or to help in the 30 days we have leading up to the big day. Let's not take a day or this election for granted. We can't. We won't.
Mark Kirk's endorsement by the News Sun validates what the posters on TA's Blog have been saying all along. This feels very good.

Yes, it's a nice start to the day.

It'll get better after Kirk meets Seals this morning to debate and wipes the floor with him.

Hey, TA, please post your impression of the meeting if you can. And let's start revving up the attendance for the Kirk/Seals debate on Sunday, October 19 at 2 p.m at Deerfield High School. Let's bring out our Kirk supporters in droves to show our overwhelming support for this one of a kind leader and champion. Can't wait to hear what the Pup has to say this morning. I understand that he's now in favor of the emergency legislation that our Congressman supported last Monday, showing his true leadership. Seals is always a day late and way short on every issue.

The way the News-Sun has been behaving, I thought they would have lost their minds and endorsed Seals this time around.

Great editorial and great endorsement. You should reprint the entire editorial here.

Copying the whole editorial goes beyond "fair use", Lou- that's why we have hyperlinks!

TA

How did the joint appearance in Mount Prospect go this morning?

Anonymous said...

Just got back from Mt. Prospect. Kirk wiped the floor with Seals. Hit him hard for opposing the bailout. Dan looked like a deer in the headlights -- tried to laugh it off but you could tell he wasn't expecting Kirk to take a swing. Direct hit!

TA, I had a first-hand report from this morning's event that was outstanding. Mark raised the issues that have remained unanswered by Seals - his job at GE Capital, how come he couldn't see what was coming, and what he really does for a living. No response, just a jittery Pup with no answers. Mark also talked about those who have endorsed him, including today's News Sun and noting that all of those groups can't be wrong about Mark's record. It's clear that Seals and his crew continue to be wrong, out of step and out of touch with this district. Then again, he's not from this district, is he.

Anonymous said...

Let's face it, Dan fanned.

Anonymous said...

Seals is melting down today -- like the subprime market he once marketed.

Anonymous said...

InDEED he melted down. Seals was in such a hurry to flee from reporters about his time at GE that he missed an opportunity with channel 5. Kirk gets solo face time when Dan runs and hides.

Anonymous said...

I've never seen a challenger run PAST reporters -- ever. But then again, he has no depth past his script on any given day.

Anonymous said...

And let's remember, folks, that Dan was not invited back to GE Capital a few years ago. Perhaps there's a story behind his not being welcomed back to his former position. That he ran past reporters today says a whole lot. Someone who was there this morning said that Seals has this annoying smirk on his face. Must be the same smirk that's evident when you look at the Tribune endorsement interview. If you haven't seen it, take the time to do so.

Folks, I just checked in over at Ellen's for kicks to see if she liked the News-Sun endorsement, and she's having a delete-fest today. Someone must be really pissing her off.

Truth hurts, baby!

Anonymous said...

Apparently at the prestigious loyola law school and undergrad unknown, they don't adhere to that old daniel patrick moynihan saying that you are entitled to your opinions, not your facts. Ellen has nothing to say about county or state politics and now that dan's campaingn is headed into permanent hibernation she doesn't like when I source and quote the latest bad news.

We can only hope her anger is not also used on democat.

Anonymous said...

Best Line EVER from the other blog:

"Dan has led a park cleanup. I was there and saw it personally." - Ellen Beth

You're right Ellen - That Dan Seals is a leader! If he can clean a park he can clean up congress, gosh darn it!!!

She deletes everything I post but good lord she makes me laugh!

Anonymous said...

Knowing the Seals campaign it was in the 9th district and done with union goon help which no press covered.

Team America said...

I saw that too, BOH. Wow, what a great leader that Dan is. The park cleanup that will go down in history. Probably the only time in the last three years he's ever done a community project.

Anon 2:50, I wouldn't worry about Democat. Ellen wouldn't harm her roomie. Unless you count brainwashing.

Anonymous said...

Seals ran from the room once it was revealed he was a 2003-5marketer of subprime real estate loans.

And his old employer, GE, is collapsing.

We want to thank some his old office mates for helping with the details. Thanks girls!

As a moderate Republican who worked in this administration and for several moderate members of congress, it's been really frustrating watching our part of the party get its ass kicked the last 15 years. In tomorrow's ny times/pravda there is a great article on rep. tom davis, a guy who ran the gop campaign in 2000 that was central to mark's win.

it's a must read and do it online so you don't support their rag.

MSK was so good this AM but then he always is. It will be interesting to see what the two reporters have to say in their articles -- assuming they write something.

Has anyone seen that disgusting piece a 527 group sent out to all voters in the 10th? The first page asks the question "what if your mother died from breast cancer" and then inside goes on to slam MSK. As a breast cancer survivor I was more then offended. Couldn't find a phone number for the group but did find an e-mail address and blasted them for it. Won't do any good but those lies and scare tactics may influence some people. If only fact check on the KFC website was read by everyone, not just us true believers.

Anonymous said...

What's the link to the Tribune video please?

www.chicagotribune.com/opinion

it is half way down.

The 527 piece is outrageous. I know several physicians and the societies representing them that are going to respond. What that disgusting piece of trash did was further energize the medical community to get out and show even more support for Mark Kirk. You won't find a way to contact the slimy people who mailed that piece into this district. 527's should have been outlawed from campaigns on both sides. What Seals and his supporters have been sending out just gets our supporters even more engaged and energized to help Mark win. We want to silence these scum peddlers once and for all.

Got a heads up about how Ayers wrote Obama's book "Dreams". I sure hope this gets the press that it deserves, but I won't hold my breath!

Lou- I just went over to Ellen's and I see she finally banned you for life. Ah, well. It was fun watching you guys go at each other while it lasted. As you know, the same thing happened to me, so that's at least two people she won't have to kick around any more.

But we'll be glad to have you here more often, so a loss for Ellen but a gain for Team America.

I suspect that there will be a lot less interesting discussion over there as it likely to become a giant echo chamber once more.

Anonymous said...

Wow, I guess talking about Dan's subprime loan peddling (I'm assuming that's what Lou was talking about) really touched a nerve.

Anonymous said...

7:58, thanks. I spent an hour yesterday trying to find where it was.

Anonymous said...

Don't worry Lou, pravda will carry on, and those of us who don't believe in high crime, high taxes, and highly incapable pups will be there to lay the smackdown on ellen.

I am more interested in the debate mark and dan had this morning on nbc, aaron lawlor or winters perhaps could find that file and send it out on the email list it would be great.

Well, now Ellen "moderates" the comments posted on her blog. Just another exercise of her fascism and hypocrisy. I hope that even the most hardened dems will be able to see the fear and desperation associated with the Seals camp. Ellen, is plain and simple freaking out, and now knows Mark has taken off the gloves, and he may have very well landed the KO punch.

Team America said...

Anon 11:19 - if Ellen keeps true to form, she will moderate comments for a while because Blogger.com doesn't have a good way to automatically ban someone like Lou. So, she will hold all comments in moderation until he gets bored and goes away.

At least with Lou she is admitting to her readers that she's banning him. With me, she just kept deleting my stuff even though I challenged her to admit to her readers that she was banning Team America because she couldn't handle the debate.

Well- her loss. Her blog was never as interesting as when TA and then Lou were commenting. Otherwise, it's a just a vast echo chamber that might please her diehard liberal fans, but doesn't offer much stimulation for independently thinking people.

For the record, once again, we've never deleted anyone for their opinion here. Team America is where freedom of speech is alive and protected, not over at Ellen's.

I saw the Carol Marin CITY DESK interview this morning. To say that Marin showed her displeasure toward our Congressman would be an understatement. In short, she was pissed at Mark because she's a hard core Democrat and boy did it show. When she attacked him for "not passing any legislation" he was quick to correct her nasty and untrue allegation. She never apologized but he very clearly showed what he has done these past 8 years. Shame on her. And then came the pup's time with her. Soft ball questions, real smiles and kind words. Seals told her that the people of the district really don't care that he doesn't live IN the district. Not at all. They care about more important issues like the economy. I thought it was interesting that he made reference to Libertyville and Palatine as areas in the 10th that are not affluent. He sure does know his district!!!!

Anonymous said...

Priceless. That's the comment from Ellen's mom regarding the outster of Lou and anyone not in sync with her daughter. I know it sounds like heresy, but TA, read her mom's comment. That 'apple' came from some twisted tree, for sure.
You've got to troll over there one last time to read that damn thing. Her mom, who lives very comfortably in this district, is whining about drug prices and the mean old Republicans. Her distortions of the truth on Part D of Medicare are a joke. Like her daughter, it's her way or the highway, and we will only be a worthy country when every last Republican has been banished from office. Don't you wonder about folks like this?

Friends- it's great to see all the traffic on the Blog this weekend and the strong support of Mark Kirk as we approach the election.

I wanted to share a blog feature over on redstate.com that I have started reading lately, which is a wrap-up of the Sunday morning political show circuit. They read and summarize so you can go to church or whatever you happen to be busy with on Sunday mornings. Enjoy!

Anonymous said...

This site is clearly taking the lake county political scene by storm. You just get the feeling that democrats are going to be as turned off by ellen's mom's rants and madame defarge and luckymom/aka soccer mommy who got her butt kicked by mark in 2000, as we are and will flood here to have an intelligent discussion.

Still trying to find the video from this morning's pantsing of dan on nbc5.....

Anonymous said...

After coming back from church this morning, I tuned into my recording of City Desk, a program I watch on a regular basis. After hearing the teases, I was really looking forward to the broadcast.

I was dismayed with Carol Marin's hostile treatment of Congressman Kirk. I have followed Ms. Marin both on Channel 5 and in the Sun Times. What a prejudiced journalist who follows the liberal media mantra. Her digs at Congressman Kirk show her true stripes. Next week, I’ll tune out.

Go Mark Kirk. Keep up the good work and enjoy the News Sun endorsement you justly earned yesterday!!

Anonymous said...

Anon 2:51, so I'm not the only one who felt the hostility toward Mark from 'journalist' Carol Marin. Her anger was palpable, her eyes and her facial expression said it all. I've watched her swoon over Barack Obama. I've heard her heap praise on every Democrat in sight. But to show the kind of disdain and disrespect to Congressman Kirk was just over the top. I am sending a message to Channel 5. I hope others will as well.

Anonymous said...

The Sun-Times is really the inhouse organ of the Obama campaign and has been for quite some time. Lynn Sweet, an old school Mark-hater who tried to castrate hastert over foley, is practically a co-strategist of that campaign and most of the sun-times columnists have Michelle Obama fetishes like I have never seen. Can you $ay book deal$? Good news is no one reads it anymore so they will be jobless and freelancing for Ellen's blog in no time.

Can someone just upload the tape from this morning since nbc5 seems to have the competence of the cubs offense?

Anonymous said...

Carol Marin is a joke - unfortunately, the media has completely abdicated its role as "reporters" and taken on a new role - canvassers for the Messiah.

The great news - the American spirit is alive and working - more than ever, we are turning off ABC, NBC and ABC and turning on FOX for fair and factual reporting. It's no wonder heads are rolling in the media industry.

As for our Congressman - I could not be more pleased and proud of his endorsement - he earned it! His sincere commitment to improving the quality of life of ALL his constituents crosses party lines.
Mark we love you!

And as for the 527 c's and DCCC - you are pathetic liars - the upside is the economy is benefiting from your fraudulent pieces of mail - that is, if you pay your bills. My guess - you don't - integrity, dignity and pride are not part of your vocabulary.

Amen my brother! But if he had his money man mckenna put together a state party that could win more than a sanitation board race maybe I wouldn't have all these ugly Karen May signs in my neighborhood, and these commie Ellenites polluting our netwaves with their pseudo-bolshevism.

The nutroots also did a poll of their own-flagrantly biased of course and it showed our dear leader up 6 points. It is on daily kos.
